The Hellenic Initiative Gala

On the 30th September I headed over to the The Hellenic Initiative Gala. It was such an interesting event I wanted to share it with you all.

This is the 3rd annual gala event and this time it was held at 4 World Trade Center. Looking out from the 54th floor, the view was so amazing. I faced the newly built Freedom Tower and I could see the whole of Manhattan Island! This event was to raise money to help the country of Greece. I was there to also help coach Anastasia Zannis sing our American anthem, which is not an easy song to sing. Anastasia was singing both the Greek and American anthems at the start of the gala.

There were many speakers with Greek heritage including His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of Americas, the CEOs of Coca Cola, Dow Chemical and not to be left out… the Prime Minister of Greece, Antonis Samaras! The Master Of Ceremonies were Emilia Bechrakis and Ryan Serhant (Stars of Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing New York”),

I was definitely in the world of politics and high profile, corporate society!

Worth the wait! Ribs, Mac and cheese and crab cakes. Will get the name of this vendor later. DELICIOUS!! Waiting for Giada Valenti to appear. Ever since I tasted these Shishito peppers, I think at Nobu in Malibu, they've become one of my favorites at restaurants when they have them. I decided to try and make this at home with a simple dipping of soy sauce and sesame oil.
Standing on line for the last day of Harlem EatUp with Lara. I'm glad it's a nice day. Going to try my Mother's Day lipstick. Excited for the new lipsticks. Going to see The Dives. At the Kristen A Carr Foundation event at Tribeca Grill. Yes, that is The Boss, Bruce on stage with Honorees Mickey and Larry Magid, Barbara Carr, Dave Marsh and Jon Landau.
In Times Square around midnight... My daughter Lara took me out to a lovely lunch and gave me these fabulous lipsticks by Bite. The card was so touching. Lara, you are a beautiful daughter. You light up my life. Mike Peters and The Alarm playing at The TriBeCa Film Fest after the movie Dare To Be Different. The story about radio station WLIR
